University of Waikato Foundry

One of several projects Air Mc has delivered in partnership with Ambient Electrical and Thorburn Construction. When the original design came in significantly over budget Air Mc were called in to redesign a more cost effective solution to meet the Universities’ needs. 

The facility required several specialised HVAC systems ranging from general ventilation to explosion controlled dust extract. We understand the need for usability and performance but also the constraints of budget so following a thorough discussion with the client and some lateral thinking we pulled together our network of local suppliers to come up with several new options for the build, the most significant of which being a Panasonic VRF system with Cooke Industries AHUs to deliver the vast volumes of tempered fresh air the building needs.

Our redesign met all the needs of the foundry users with comfort, precision and functionality and our prompt, efficient installation enabled the project to be delivered on time and on budget.
